Souther African Development Community (SADC) is a Regional Organization in Africa founded on the 17th August 1992 and whose mandate is to promote and advance regional integration and economic development of the region. The Regional body is headquartered in Gaborone, Botswana, and comprises 16 Member States namely, Angola, Botswana, Comoros, Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), Eswatini, Lesotho, Malawi, Mauritius, Mozambique, Madagascar, Namibia, Seychelles, South African, Tanzania, Zambia and Zimbabwe. There are currently 8 SADC Member States that accredited to and based in the State of Kuwait. These include; Botswana, Comoros, Eswatini, Lesotho, Malawi, South Africa, Tanzania and Zimbabwe.
The SADC Members accredited to the State of Kuwait, comprising hold a SADC Cultural Week in collaboration with the National Council for Culture, Arts and Letters (NCCAL) from 30th September to 4th October, 2018, in the State of Kuwait.
The SADC Cultural Week, was the first of its kind in Kuwait, that organised to enhance relations between the SADC region and the State of Kuwait through cultural exchanges and the promotion of people to people cooperation, trade, investment and tourism as encapsulated under the SADC Protocol on Culture, Information and Sport, and the SADC Regional Indicative Strategic Development Plan.
